Did this just happen, try priming the the fuel system @ the filter head. There is a screw at the bottom of the fuel filter, loosen it, then pump the thimble at the top of the housing about ten or so times then re-tighten the screw and try to fire it. It might not start the first time, and then repeat the priming again.

the trucks don't have a lift pump. they operate on vacuum. the fuel system gets primed manually and then stays primed. until you open it up. then you must reprime it. the injection pump pulls a vacuum on the system and thats how it gets fuel to pump. adding a lift pump only helps those who have a big tune and run out of fuel. try priming the system with the hand pump like others have said. have you done any work lately?

I was told that these trucks ahve a built in lift pump piggy backed on the cp3 pump, thats waht I was told. But they dont ahvean inline ectric pump like the 6.5's etc. There could be a cracked pickup in the tank or a bunch of garbage in the tank

no lift pump stock. pump that gets driven off the motor sucks fule from the tank.

First thing is try to bleed it.

Second is change the fule filter if when you try to bleed it it has fule.

Thanks guys. I primed it and it worked for abou two hours then it done it again. I can prime it and it works fine for a while. I will try a fuel filter then drop the tank if that don't fix it.

If it's loosing prime, it might be the seal on the primer going bad.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess at something here...

What kind of tune are you running with efi? Is it a pretty fueled up tune?

I think what happened on my truck is once I started cranking the programmer up and really laying into it after I got my tranny done I started losing fuel prime. It wasnt bad, only when I parked on a slant and left it for 12 hours or so. once I primed it it was fine. But I think the bigger tune may have pulled enough vacuum that a weak spot somewhere in the fuel system opened up and allowed a small amount of air to start leaking in. I tossed in lift pumps and problem is solved.
