I'm going to go with the AEM intake. (They will be out in a couple of weeks.) For the time being, I pulled the air silencer off my stock box. It's easy to do and isn't a perminent modification. It makes the whistle a little louder and mpg went up slightly.

I am also going to get the 5" MRBP dpf-back exhaust when it comes out.

PPE programmer with the stock airbox mod (directions come with it)
MBRP DPF back exhaust
This is the best combo for this truck right now!
Both of these items are currently out

With the new Exhaust filter, I wouldn't do any modifications to the intake, exhaust (pre DPF/DOC) or programming. We know from the past that these kinds of modifications increase the black smoke that rolls out the back...which now means that there is going to be more soot captured in the filter. This is going to increase the frequency of regenerations which will decrease fuel economy. This is the best case scenario...worst case we plug the filter and the truck goes to the dealer for service and we have to pay for a new one.

^^^^:exactly: :agreed: ^^^
JimmyDel is telling it like it is! The power up devices will soot up and or plug the DPF to the point of no return. Since you've voided your warranty with the power up device, the cost for a new DPF is over 1k + R&R time. So, unless you have money to burn.....

I have the PPE programer and the MBRP filter back. Runs like a champ, miles went up. Exaust sounds the same to me but looks better than the boo boo factory pipe. "Stock Sucks, It's Just Money"

That factory pipe looks goofy. It's like a cross between a musket and a ray gun from the old Bugs Bunny cartoons.

who is getting black smoke/soot from their mods????

Not me, I am sure the DPF is clogging up and will go into regen quicker, but no smoke.

Can you elaborate for a new guy? Thanks.

Here's a link to the post where I found out about it. It's really easy to do. Just take the air box unit out and then pull the end off of it and re-install it. If you don't like it, it's easy to put back on.

This is a carriage works grill, they now have one for the bumper and lower bumper (on order) I tinted my tail lights and designed my own Z71 DECALS. I own a label shop so I did my own. I carry RUGER so thats why I did the decal on the back glass.

Yeah, so when and how can we order some of those decals? I would like some just like that except the 4x4 be silver or matching the Z71.

Well I really didnt plan on selling them cause once you do set up and everything you lose money. The best thing to do is find them on ebay. Thats where I got the idea. I have a guy that buys stuff in bulk and sells it on ebay and I might try to get him to sell them on there.

SWEET truck! I like how you removed the logos off the tailgate. That's a nice clean look.
