I plan on putting in a new pioneer dvd player in my 04 chevy that already has xm radio in it......if i put in a xm compatible deck can i use the factory xm receiver and ant. that came with it or do i need new equipment.


If i do need new equipment will xm let me transfer over my service from one box to another?

You could use the antenna but not the tuner. I can't remember but you might need adapters for the antenna.


Yes you can switch your equipment on your xm account.

to cut and splice...

I am pretty sure the GM antenna is the standard 2 plug (green and yellow). But I think they are very short so you might need extentions. There might already be extentions that plug into the OEM XM receiver, I'm not sure. I was told that the leads on the antenna are about 6" long and are the standard green and yellow plugs. The end that plugs into the OEM xm receiver could be different.
