I've been told that once you program your truck even if you put it back to stock it leave's a special code that the dealer can see and tell that the pcm has been fooled with, this was by a retailer that sell's predetor, superchips and hypertech programmers. Please help me find out the truth about this. I have a hypertech programmer on the way and i'm thinking of sending it back. Thank's for the help

Too many people on this forum done the such and had no problems.

Although, I have read and been told by more than one person that the "edge" and the "predator" are untraceable, whereas there ARE others that do leave a trace.

I have been using the Hypertech for a couple of months now. I have taken it in twice now for minor cosmetic things. Both times I have asked that they check to see if I have the latest updates. Both times they have hooked up their computer and played around in there for a while, both times they said, "Yep, everything looks good". The second time I directly asked the tech, "Can you tell that I have had a Hypertech tuner"? He told me no, they leave no trace. But you have to make sure you put it completely back to stock, even the tire size.

It doesn't matter anyway, there are laws protecting you from that. A dealer cannot void your warranty unless he can PROVE that the damage was caused directly from the use of the product. If the tuner does actually cause damage to your truck, then the manufacturer of the tuner is liable. When you get your Hypertech, there will be a slip of paper in the box stating the laws.
