I just changed the fluid in my transfer case to synthetic and was wondering if it is possible to overfill it. I managed to get just over 2 1/2 qts. in but it was coming back out the fill hole as I was replacing the fill-plug. Is this OK.?

actual capacity is 2 quarts, I try to let it drain out till its level with the plug as long as the truck is level. Worst case is it will blow out vent.
