Sup ya'll.. well, I just finished installing the full exhaust system on my LLY. If you don't know I had ordered an aluminum kit from RPM and they sent me the SS kit by mistake, but later found out they were out of the other ones so me and a buddy got the high dollar kit at no extra charge.

Anyways, the only hard part for me was removing the stock exhaust without cutting it, but I did it just fine- just in case they clamp down on emissions here.

As for the sound..I am VERY impressed. It is no louder than my old 6.0HD with stock exhaust. You can hear it on startup briefly, but otherwise it sounds very good. I was fearful of starting it, but I am very pleased with it.

Inside the cab you can just barely hear it and there is no droning inside at all. Once I turned the radio to teh level I normally have it at nothing sounded different.

I had to go down to the local muffler shop here and have 4 or 5 inches off the tip cut off so teh resonator tip could be welded on, but thats it.

Without the resonator tip the sound is more of a loud sucking and whistling, but with the tip welded on it sounds very good.

The kit is the SS Motoblue complete exhaust system.

I will post some pics once it stops raining

now that I think about it, I don't see how the SES light would come on since there are no sensors on the exhaust anywhere unless it is monitored somewhere else. If it does come on that's ok, I can erase it.

also.. just an update. so far no issues and the sound is very tolerable with no drone.

just wanted to add that after a few days of driving the truck seems to accelerate much smoother and easier than before. no SES light as of yet.

briano,

Do you any type of scanner tool or a programer to hook up to it and check for codes? I ask this because when I did the egr modification nothing showed up on the DIC, but I had four codes set that I found with the scanner/programer.

Jumper,
actually yes I do.. I have OBDI and OBDII scanners so I am good. I will give it a few days and then hook it up and find out.

did you just clear your codes?
