I was wondering, I know that on the old Mack big rigs, if you plugged the fuel return line, you would get more power because instead of draining back into the tank, that fuel was kept in the filter. I gave this a little thought and figured it probably wouldn't work on our trucks and might be hazardous because you aren't programming the pump to put out more fuel to the injectors and might get too much fuel in the housing and create too much pressure. Or on the other hand it might act like the feed the beast and not reprogram the pump, but just allow for more flow so that you don't necessarily have too much fuel, you just aren't starving for it as much when you need it. I was just wondering what you guys thought about this.

From what I have read, if you create backpressure on the IP return, the IP doesn't like it.

I remember the same.

Do it and see what happens.

dont know unless you try! you could probably just pinch of the return line somewhere and then drive it and find out. let us know what happens

Pinching the return line will cause the engine to stall.

Once the housing pressure equals the injecton pump supply pressure the pump will quit pumping. It takes pressure to push the pumping plungers out.
If the pressure equalizes the plungers won't go out.
