Very infrequently my cruise control will not activate for a half hour or so. This happens maybe 2-3 times a year only and always begins working again. Any ideas? Would this be something that would show up with a computer analysis? I'm not due for service yet, but always forget to ask when my '02 is in the shop!

my 01 gas silverado cruise wouldnt work when the headlights were on dealer said it was the computer but sold it befor i fixed it. havent had it in my 02 d-max yet

Is the sensor on the brake pedal, when the cruise control isn't working, either tap the brake or pull up on it with your toe. It'll start working. I've heard it can be cleaned and/or adjusted, but have never bothered as the toe pull fix works for months.

I noticed mine dosen't work until warmed up.

On a few occasions i had this problem were it doesn't work. If i was going faster than 80klm then it would sometimes not work. But i figured out that if i slowed down below 80klm, it would work again.
