Those front axle angles don't look that great. IFS allows you to mount the differential higher and run cv's at relatively shallow angles.

I would love to throw a 60 under my truck, I was just hoping everyone could put in there total cost they spent, and also if they did it themselves or if they paid someone. They all look great.

The conversion is pretty straight forward depending on how you go about doing it. It can be made more difficult if you try to source out cheap parts that aren't made for a particular kit (ORU), or try to cut corners. If you do it right, it will be the best upgrade you'll ever make to the truck. Do you feel comfortable doing it yourself? Or would you rather have a shop do it? There's a big difference in cost.

i would probably want to have someone do it for me, but i would have to look at it and see what i have to deal with. i want to run a coil over set up.

If you want coil overs for sure, you have a few options. Have someone in your neck of the woods fab it, wait for the pricing on the ORU kit, or wait to see the quality of the Rock Krawler kit. I think Nick @ Nor Cal is doing one soon, so I'm curious to see how it turns out. I would really recommend using someone that is well known for this, I'd hate to see you go with a shop that lowball's the $$ to get the buisness and ruins your truck. DO NOT go anywhere that cannot provide you with a truck to drive before you lay down any $$.

Looks like my pot got deleted! I had a good post going. Anywho, I will be installing a solid axle conversion on mine. I've had an ORU kit lying around for years. I just need to buy the leafs from 4 wheel. Its actually easy. I did my suburban and built a 4 link for rear and bagged rear with 25" tall semi bags (16" rear travel that went up and down). I actually fabbed up my own hangers and made my own kit from scratch for my burban. Took me 2 days to do whole lift (25" incl body lift that was on there since 1st week I bought suburban). Just took me an extra day to have rear d.shaft made, brake lines made and shock mounts made. I also made my own trac bar, tie rod, and draglink within same 2 days. was a sat and sunday, so I wasn't under pressure to do it. I would imagine that my ORU kit will take me a day except for the part that I will be making all my own tie rod, draglink, etc again. I will shop around for some nice used King bypass shocks on race-dezert, and eventually link the front and airbag it. I LOVE PLAYING WITH TRUCKS!
