Can the dealer "flash" the PCM to be able to fast idle? I heard the trucks with the snow plow package have a way to set fast idle from the factory, is that something I can have "installed".

Good luck, my dealer (diesel tech) didn't know anything about high idle. Ask eric he will be able to tell you.

This applies to 2001-2003 models. It may apply to a 2004 model, with the LB7, since I don't believe much changed until mid-year when they went to the LLY.Edited by: OC_DMAX

The dealer might have to excite the PTO option on some trucks. GM has a Tech information on that site,when I get on my other computer I'll find the link,Then you can print and bring to service writer.

just installed my fast idle. I used a switch and followed the instructions from Kennedy Deisel. Was a piece of cake and works perfectly. a great option for this truck. Thanks to Kennedy for posting that instruction
