Have you guys ever seen a bumper on a GMC 2500HD come out of alignment from teh factory? I noticed that the space between my bumper and the ugly plastic above it is no even from one side to the other. On the drive side I can put two fingers in side by side. Passenger side...not even one. Most folks wouldnt notice it, but its driving me crazy. I need to get it to the dealer but any thoughts? And no wrecks or anything of that nature.

I had to trim a lot more of one side of my bumper than the other side to make my 285/75-R16's fit. I just figured the bumper was on the truck crooked. Hope it's not the suspension cause it's a brand new truck!

Actually, I don't think I've ever seen one that was IN alignment from the factory. They all seem to be off a little bit from side to side... must be a production tolerance thing. Misaligned hoods seem to be common too.

When I was at the dealerships, three of them, I probably saw 30-40 of them out of alignment. I don't remember seeing any that looked straight. Mine's crooked.

Any way to fix this? It is driving me crazy to have a nice 1-5 to 2 inch gap on one side and 1/4 inch on the other...

Take the grill off, loosen the bolts holding the bumper on which ever side is low, slide a couple washers in there to pull that side up and tighten it.

After my truck was in an accident with a cement wall and it got a new bumper, the dealer shimmed the new bumper up. I noticed this when I took the bumper off to adjust it for my 315s. Should only take you about 20 minutes to shim it up. Only 6 bolts hold the bumper on, of which 4 are direct to the frame, and the other two just keep the outside of the bumper from vibrating.
