I currently have about 8500 miles on my current oil (AmsOil 15/40 and EaO filter). about 3000 miles of that towing. used zero oil in the first 5000 miles, but has used about 1 1/2 qts in the last 3500. from reading other threads it sounds like that is about normal.

i am in alabama right now; planning on changing the oil when i get back to colorado, which will be around 11,000 on the oil. will do an oil analysis when i change and decide from that whether to go longer on the next one. i know amsoil says you can go 15-25k on their oil with the EaO filter, yet i think i may stick with 10,000 just for piece of mind.

Sounds about right. I use the about 1 qt to 7k with AC2232 and Rotella T 15w40. Some towing but 90% highway.

Mine's gone down less than 1/3 quart in the 6400 miles since I changed it (Amsoil Premium Diesel 5W-40 and EaO52 filter, plus FS-2500 bypass filter). I don't tow but I drive it like I drove my erstwhile BMW. 16,000 miles on the truck.
