I know these topics have been beat to death and I have THOROUGHLY searched all I could. I have decided on the Rancho lift. So my question is this. I would like to run a 16x8 wheel and 315/75 tire. Is this possible without fender or wheel well trimming. This truck will see a decent amount of off road time. So the suspension will be getting worked. I do not want to have to trim anything and will just get a 295 or 285 size tire if that is the case. Also what is the appropriate back spacing for this application. Thank you to everyone in advance.

Eric,

The 315/75's will not work with the Rancho 4" lift without considerable trimming, plus you'll have to crank the torsion bars up quite a bit to boot.

Rancho designed the 4" lift (RS6548) for use with 285/75-16 tires on 16x8 rims with 4 5/8" backspacing. I'm running rims & tires of this size and it looks fine. You could go to a 295/75-16 if you want to do some very minor trimming of the lower front airdam and zip-tie the e-brake cable behand the fender well cover. With either size get 4 5/8" backspacing as the Rancho lift already pushes the track of the front tires out 1.5" on each side.

If you're looking to offroad much, the 285 or 295 is all you want with the Rancho lift because you need some working for the suspension. If you're set on the 35" tire size then get a 6" lift. Remember some 6" lifts won't clear 35's completely.

Hope this helps,

Doug

I am waiting on my 05 dmax extcab long box. I am considering a 4" lift and 16x8 285's My concern is the effect the tire change will have on the gear ratio/computers. are there any changes needed?

Doug thank youhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif That was exactly what I was looking for. If you have any pictures, I know myself and other members would like to see them. Once again thanks.
