I am considering buying a 2500HD Duramax in december.I see many guys here that have a incredible amout of HP and Torque gain with box and programmer.And my question was:Did the Allison can handle that much power? And did something exist to upgrade the tranny to handle it?Thank you

The oppinion of many here is that the stock allison wont handle much over 100 extra hp relaibly for long term. Actually probably less to be 100% safe and since you are talking a LLY if your thinking of new......definatly on the lesser side since you are starting with more power.
Lots of trans mods, look in the allison forum. Suncoast, ATS, TTS, transgo. Do a search on those and you will have loads of info. Any questions not answered after skimming through that and feel free to ask away.

the question is how much power to you need? Are pulling a fiver or trailer? I just picked up an 05 2500 HD DMax and it has plently to pull my trailer. Yea, most here what to install mods and fancy stuff and there's nothing wrong with that. But myself, I've drivin a ole 6.2 non-aspirated suburban for the last 18 years and this DMax is like going to heaven...the stock, right from the factory job. It's all up to you...
