Does anyone know of a fuel tank that fits along the inside SIDE of the box. Don't need it hooked up to the the other tank(don't mind having to pump it in myself) Guess I'm looking for away to have some extra fuel along, but keep the full length of the box for a snowmobile.

Not to sound like a mother hen, but wouldn't you worry about a side
impact? Forgetting the CBS staged GM side impact debacle, I would
think there would be a real danger in a side impact if you put a tank
in as you suggest. Nothing there to protect it.

Fuel is different than gas. Look at all the big rigs out there.
Making sure it is secured to the vehicle during a crash is more important in my opinion.
I think what you want is something like the "over the hump" tool boxes, but I haven't seen anything in a fuel tank. May want to think of a custom fab...

Yea, that's what I'm looking for is a over the hump tank, but can't say I've ever seen one. Hopefully someone knows of one.
(and I've carried a diesel tank in my pickup for 20 years for filling tractors....I have alot more things to worry about then that!)

You might want to try RDS aluminum in Florida. Their website is www.rdsaluminum.com (http://www.rdsaluminum.com) I got my in bed auxillary tank from them along with the 6 way switching device and have been very happy with everything and the prices were pretty reasonable. I know they can custom fabricate a tank for you if you need it. The salesman I spoke with was Ray Veal; he was very nice and answered every question I threw at him.

Wouldn't a supertank work if you just wanted to carry more fuel? I think the replacement tank they make is 75gallons. Or something like 54gallons for the shortbox. I can't remember for sure.

You might try KSH Marine. Their web site is kshmarine.com. I have a 45 gallon tool box tank combo. They fabricate all kinds of aluminum tanks. They are real good to work with.

MNfarmdude,
Here is something that I think will fit the description of what your after, the oversimplification of the refilling system connections to the main tank is relatively cost effective, just do it & don't worry about having to stop & refuel from the extra tank/s: http://www.tourbuddy.com/gmtruck.shtml
Hope this helps.
Todd.
