I have an 02 Sierra LT with the tape player and CD storage center console. I'm wondering if anyone has taken this part out and left the main console in? Are there any problems with doing this?(exposing wires, duct work?) Also, are there any alternatives to this console, ex. aftermarket consoles or homemade?

not had at all you will need 7mm open end wrench 10mm i think that's but i dont really understand the question

Your rear seat air runs throough the console. So you would need to do some customiing to hide this.

I think I know what you want to do. Right in front of the cupholders there is a huge gap where the two pieces meet.

I guess I would just say try it. Its not going to hurt annything to try. Then post it back up for all to see.,

As far as other consoles I belive you can swap a denali one in.
