The vibration I thought was tires was probably a bad u-joint. The front one on the rear drive shaft ... the one close to the support bearing. I've not seen one like it before; the bearing cups are retained by plastic nails/rivets or something. The bearing cups have always been retained by snap rings in any u-joint I've previously replaced. The question is: can these plastic retained ones be replaced by snap ring ones? The guy at NAPA says yes ,.. probably. Before I start I'd like to be a little more sure. Anyone? Thanks
