I own the '02 in my signature. My son bought it new and it has about 80k miles on it.A couple days ago i drove from Montana to Indiana and after long periods of driving when i stopped for fuel or rest park visits it IDLED pretty rough. (I replaced the fuel filter just a couple days before i left) At highway speeds it runs OK...I took it to a local mechanic and he put a diagnostic tool on it and it showed #1 and #2 injectors to be pretty erratic. The truck goes to the local Chevy dealer Thursday..(he has a good reputation locally) What kinds of things do i need to watch for and what questions do i need to ask? I am fairly familiar with diesel engines but don't want to get a snow job.
Do you think there's any chance of getting ALL the injectors replaced??
Thanks for your advice/tips/suggestions...........

You are aware that the injectors are covered under a 200k warranty on your '02.

Some dealers replace only the injectors out of spec. You might luck out and get a decent one that can justify replacing them all.

Good luck!

The mechanic--at the local Chevy dealer's--- who's working on my LB7 tells me he doesn't "screw around with injectors"....If a Duramax has 1 or 2 injectiors out of spec he changes ALL of them...and the service manager says he doesn't keep injectors in stock but orders them as needed in hopes he'll get the most recent upgrade......
I wont get my truck back until Monday but at this moment the dealer SEEMS to be honest and upfront.....
even gave me a loaner to drive over the weekend.....I asked for a new Vette but settled for a Cavalier....ugh!
