: Why no dual out the back exhausts?

I see these on alot of gas trucks but never see a split rear exhaust that has two tailpipes exiting under the rear bumper of a diesel truck. Is there a reason that I might be missing?

mainly because most of us use our rigs for towing, and when you tow with a deisel you can usually count on it blowin some smoke. and unless you like the front of your trailer covered with black soot, side exit tailpipes are really the only way to go. also the exhaust sound bouncing off a trailer, or resonating under a fiver can be extreemly annoying. at least these were my reasons to go with a side exit.

MBRP has a nice dual set up. Try them.

That looks good and will probably be the system that I go with but I like the exhaust flowing out under the bumper :) I see what is meant about the sound bouncing off the trailer or soot shooting onto everything.

davesmax,

Been there and done it, you won't like it. We have even had customers get our dual systems and modify them to exit out the rear and then want replacement parts to change it back to side exits after a few thousand miles.

Check this review done here by a member on the duals:
