the truck seems to take spells smoking, sometimes it wont smoke a bit and other times like todayi push it to the floor and it looks like a dodge just went by. i can really tell the differnce in power when its smokin. could my injectors be gettin bad, trucks got 158k and still runnin factory injectors

What is holding you wg closed? I had to put a stiff spring on mine.

Actually sounds like you are loosing vacuum to the WG actuator. (Vacuum keeps the WG shut.)


So first check the vacuum lines (make sure they aren't broken, cracked, or falling off) running from the WG actuator to the WG solenoid valve, then check the vacuum lines from the WG solenoid valve to the vacuum pump.


If they appear fine, check the vacuum levels at idle. The vacuum pump should be delivering 25" Hg, and the vacuum post WG solenoid valve should be about 18" Hg.





If I were a betting man, Id say your WG solenoid is shot....

WGsolenoid is sticking, that's why it only does it at times. Good call 'yota.


Boost guage would show you the real psi and end all doubt.Edited by: quantum mechanic
