Hi, I just wanted to say that I love this place. I just took the family on our summer vacation with the camper. After reading several threads, I decided, at the last minute, to take along a spare fuel filter even though I change mine every 10K.
Well, I was on the highway in the middle of nowhere in PA, when all of a sudden the check engine light came on and the truck started to die, slowed to about 30 mph and wouldn't go over 2,000 rpms. I figured this was the "limp" mode that I had read about. I luckily had a rest area right in front of me. I "limped" in and could find nothing wrong. Then I remembered about the possibility of the fuel filter clogging for any number of reasons.
I swapped in the new filter and it fired right up and I was back on the road in 15 minutes. I later found an Autozone and they pulled the code which came up as fuel management. I'm guessing I just got a bad load of fuel at one of these "rural" fuel stations I stopped at. Thanks again to everyone here.
