fprv fuel pressure relief valve. you either need a new one or need to shim the one you have. there are other fixes too, like lift pumps and maybe even programming. fill out your sig so we know what youve got. are you stock? do a search on 1093's there is a ton of info on the cause, the fix, the problem, you name it.

Click the user cp tab at the top and fill out your signature. This will help us by knowing what we are dealing with.
Change the fuel filter first.
Use the search for 1093 you will have days of raeding. Is your truck stock?

change the filter first but it probably is the FPRV. Lots of controversy on this one. (lift pump or shimming the valve)use the search and make your own decision. Shimming made my 1093's disappear. I also run a lift pump.

How would I test to see if the FPRV is bad? Do the dealer have to do this?

i would be suspect of the fprv(fuel pressure relief valve). i was having the same trbl w/ my 04 lly changed the fuel filter(napa) same thing happened. brought it to the stealer they said it was the non- gm filter i put in, was the restriction. got it back drove about 60mi same p1093/ limp mode. brought it back to stealer after about 1 week they finally figured out it was the fprv, + they wanted to charge me the deductable again, which i didn't have to after a big fight.
