I just picked up a autometer cobalt series pryo and boost gauge. I got a handle on the hook up under the hood. But I need help on the wiring hook up under the dash. These will go on the A pillar.

Which wire should I tie into for the power and which wire should I tie into for the light up when head lights are on? I want the control panel dimmer wheel to work for the gauges as well?

If anyone can enlighten http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif me, I would be greatful, I picture would be awesome.

Go to a NAPA or PEPBOYS or some auto store that sells Fuse taps......the kind that uses a block with a fuse in it for the circuit and a fuse for the accessory being powered up.

If you have a 2002 as your sig suggest , I can snap a PIC of my setup and post it here later.......

These things are great. They come in standard size and mini.

Check out www.gmupfitters.com (http://www.gmupfitters.com) They have full electrical manuals for pin-outs and connector types, along with locations.

You can get ideas and locations to tap for always hot, assy run, and run. Also an easy place for ground.

The BEC is the easiest place to tap for power. I used spade connectors and slid them on the appropriate pins. That way I didn't have to splice into the existing wiring.

I just put my gauges in and powered the lights and pyro from the BEC. I just haven't hooked the gauge lights to the dimmer switch yet. I didn't want to take the lower dash panel off to get to the switch. With my ISSPRO gauges, the full on lighting does not overwhelm you when driving. I may go back and hook into the dimmer later.

I used one of these in the mini size in the rear wipers slot and it worked like a champ.

Here's a couple different places. I got mine at Napa, but I had
to order it since they were out of stock. Most auto stores should
have them, but this town is lacking in that department.

Napa, AutoZone, PepBoys, etc. all have them. . .
