Has anyone ever hooked up a high idle switch and have a remote startef? Do you flip the switch on when you leave the truck at night, so when you fire it up in the am it goes to high idle? Is it ok for the truck to start that way?

MainMax, there is a reference to hooking up a high idle to a remote starter in this link..... http://dieselplace.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1006&PN =2&TPN=2 (http://dieselplace.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1006&PN=2&TPN=2) http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Rock On.gif

I hook up to the high idle to the brake switch so that is always on and ready to go when the truck is in park. This won't work if you have a standby speed. (idles up when you flip on your switch). In that case you will need to wire a relay to simulate the switch being on using a ground out while running of the remote start or an auxiliary output.

I hooked my high idle up like the article said using a relay and the trunk pop. I leave the cruise in the on position all the time anyway. Hit it twice to go from idle to the first level and another time to go to high. If you hit it one more time it goes back to idle.
