Good idea to change the rear diff and front diff at 500 miles. also change the allison spin on filter and dont forget the doughnut magnet. Change the oil and chage it again at 3k. I'd use regular dino oil in the motor and do a few changes at 3k and then switch to what ever oil you may want to use and what ever interval you plan to use. I got some miles on my truck before I changed the transfercase fluid and used synthetic ATF. Use synthetic in the rear and front diff. Also hit all the grease zerks.....seems the factory misses em every now and then. Spray in bedliners rule, stock tires suck(might be able to sell em for some $ if you ditch em right away) Side steps rock too. I would tell the dealer to not do any washing or detailing as a part of thier prep. I actualy made it a conditon of the sale. I would drive it fairly easy and not to or work it right away. The motor is pretty much broke in but the diffs and such arnt. And you might as well call Steve Cole at TTS now and get a program for it, you know you want to so why waithttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif Exhasut aint a bad idea regardless though even if you dont start bombing it. My 05 had 3 miles on it when I got it. Elaine left on a parts run today with 30 miles on it. When she returns, the oil will be dumped, and again at around 250 miles. I'd like to get 2-3 oil changes in the first 2-3k so as to help flush out any assembly dirt.

The Diablo Predator will be loaded into the ECM shortly...

Burt - first of all, welcome to the forum....and congrats on the new truck.....

Here's a simple, friendly warning:

The members here will make sure that your checkbook is always completely empty...We will suggest power adders and accessories that you didn't even know about or have any desire to have....Peer pressure is a wonderful thing, you seehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif

hahaha Thanks, well I have a money sucking rig already, my 72K5/Blazer. I bought this siverado to tow my blazer. I probly won't change much to start with. After the drive train is broke in then I will tow with it and go from there. I will be hanging out here trying to learn about all the mods. I welcome all comments and sugestions. That way when it comes time to change whatever I may already have the answer in my head. hehee

Thanks for the advice

TTS is a power widget company. Go take a gander at ttspowersytems.com iirc and some other vendors that hang out here sites and take a look at all the nifty toys available.

Ooooo full converthttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley16.gif Always wanted one on 38's with a mild lift.

For some reason I seem to be dumping more $ into my daily driver PU than either of my Chevelles.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif Its a sickness and there is a mass infection herehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif

Power is stupidly easy to get outa these things, a plug in box or a reflash tuner or the like and you have close to 100hp depending on what you buy. It will take you longer to open the box than to unleash the power. Some prefer stock though so to each his own if your not interested in getting more power outa it.

The stainless steal door sill protectors and in chanell(not the stick on kindhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley11.gif) vent visors, Chrome over SS side steps and a spray in bed liner go on my trucks right away. Those are must haves IMO and then I go onto adding toys. Tool box is nice to have also but you may want to look into the whole deal of the bedrails and bracing em

Cool Thanks, I have been reading here and does seam like a lot of different ways to go for adding power. The 05 is suppose to have 610ftlbs of torque already so I don't know if I will need to boost that up or not.

I am leaning toward getting a Weather Guard box for the bed. I am getting the long bed so i should still have pleanty of room with a tool box back there..I guess I will wait and see..

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas, I hope to learn alot here.

Ya!!!!! buy the GMC extended warrante before you take delivery of the truck, and add an additional 50gal fuel tank, better than any other add on.

Congrats on the new truck. There's a lot of info here on the site, everyone is great about sharing their ideas. They will tell you that you need this and that and so on. There's a thread somewhere about maintenance, it's pretty good.

My Dad has a Weatherguard box on his truck, extra wide with a single lid. Five years old now and works like new, well worth the money.

You're from Modesto California. Tell Scott Peterson I said hello, and if he's guilty, I hope he burns in hell. Edited by: Buckeye03

Glad you got some good news. I can't wait to see pics of your new beast. We need some more 05 Silvy's to represent around here. I saw a guy get out of an 03-04 and kept turning around to look at my new hood and grille. I am almost starting to like it better than the 01-02's, but I miss the grille bar...Good luck getting your new toy tomorrow.

They look like bow ties, and they should be, but they are not, they are just wide hexagons.
