Well I finished my Transgo Jr, and figured I would share some tips. First from the post I have read, some of the kits come with more then others. My kit only required removal of the Valve Body, and the Tranny was left in the truck. This would have taken about 2 hours had I not dropped a solenoid.
After letting the tranny drain I put the plug back in and dropped the pan. I left the pan directly below the tranny. This allowed for a convenient and clean place to drop all the bolts and clips. First remove the filter and place on your drain pan. Then remove the bracket for the shift linkage that is attached to the valve body, and the two clips that retain the wiring harness. Disconnect all the wiring connectors. Then you can remove all the bolts that are circled in red in the photo below. Now I removed the pan with valve body and all other parts inside it, and placed the drain pan back under the tranny to catch any fluid that is still dripping.
I disassembled the valve body in the pan to catch the fluid that is still inside. Make sure you have plenty of rags and a clean work area. I used the kit instructions for drilling and replacing the parts that came with it. When re-installing the valve body make sure you get the pin (circled in yellow below) in the slot on the shifter linkage.
