First set dumped fuel into the crankcase, on vacation and two different dealers said it was ok to drive it... Replaced all 8 @ 70,000.
Came home with a knock, 3000 miles later it was growing into a bad knock, dealer stated it was the injectors, # 7 was bad again. Replaced all 8 with the "Newest design" Knock still there,,, You should have seen the look on the service managers face when I pointed out the knock.. Chevy said they would either extend the engine waranty to 150,000 miles or give me 2000.00 off a new one.....
This truck is on the 3 set of injectors with 73,000 miles..
My new 04 lly has 3,000 miles. So far, so good :)

Travis, Do you have any fuel system mods. Secondary filtration and/or lift pump. The reason I ask is that I have a friend who had 180K last I talked to him and he is completely stock. I figure he's either lucky or we have some darn good fuel in our area. Hope it's the second reason.

Dealer took pretty good care of me with the injectors ie. free rental car, one week turnaround etc.
I would buy another Duramax tomorrow if GM would just put one in a Suburban!

Yes, at 3785 miles
May not have been fault with injectors, but with GM dealer fraud instead.
Klondike Motors (GM dealer, Whitehorse Yukon) claimed to have changed all 8 injectors when truck quit at 3785 miles. Truck quit again 200 miles later, Inspection by independent certified mechanic claimed engine has never had a bolt touched with a wrench.

Yes. #7 injector stuck open at approx. 11000 miles, flooding the cylinder causing the piston and rod to crack/shatter on the upstroke. Engine replaced.
Still love the truck even after that happened. Free rental car from GM, Dealer asked about Banks stickers, tossed him a line of BS about how I like their diesel racing stuff. Tech said that the aftermarket toy had nothing to do with it whatsoever.
