so many choices,I have seen the Diablo Predator and I also seen another setup called the Predator.I tow a 26' 3 horse trailer with full living quarters.I was pulling it with a 99 dodge with a cummins,i added a Edge Ez to it it had the 354 rear end. the cummins was great,i was worried about the truck not being able to handle the power of the cummins so i didnt add any more hp or torque. So now i bought a 03 GMC,stock i am a little disappointed I am hoping to add some hp and torque and hope it pulls a bit better. The Allison is nice, not sure I am driving right, doesnt seem to downshift soon enough, maybe its my driving? I need help choosing the right programmer or power box, the truck is used 95% of the time for just towing.I'm looking for best product for towing, wont be racing or burning tire or anything like that.thanks for any help on this!

Ok they are the same thing. It's a Diablo Sport Predator, i used it to tow my horse trailer with and was very happy. the first thing I recommend is gauges though, stock I could get that thing to 1300 degrees.
I REALLY liked having the 40 horse tow tune on it while towing, especially on the freeway, passing power was much better.
Just becareful with the power, the Alli's are good but they do have weaknesses with extra power.
I think the switch from the dodge to the GMC is lack of gearing in the dodge, when i drove one it seemed to always be winding way up while the duramax barely off idle has enough grunt to keep you going.

I only used it on the first setting for towing myself. I really did like it. How much is your neighbor towing? Im tranny concious... Some get away with it and others can't.

I tow a 34 ft. G/N horse trailer and PPE is the best tow tune easily. The Economy tuner would work well for you with a stock tranny. There are pics of the trailer in my garage. It a tall trailer, catches a lot of air. Good Luck

Just outta curiosity what kinda mileage are you getting w/ the PPE towing? I didnt get a chance to run a full tank w/ the predator :(
BTW. That's a CLEAN CB radio install, i mean 100% professional looking. Nice Job :thumb: :thumb:

my neighbor pulls a 31 ' gooseneck flat bed,he leaves ohio in the winter and goes to florida. hauls tractors and anything he can get to help pay for fuel.last trip down he had it weighed because he had a small dozer and tractor on it and it was 19000 lbs or better.said he had no problems.so he was going to let me try his before i bought one and found out that it gets married to the first truck you use it on.that stinks!! thats why i am getting opinions before i spend the money. i was looking at the hypertech max energy but not many people like it.heard it the hp is low to the setting.but heard alot of people liking the pedator.i guess they all arent the same thing just in a diffrent package or are they????

It really depends how hard I work it. Usually between 11-14 mpg but I run the 300 hp tune all the time and depending on how many horses and how much gear I'm towing. The trailer weight will vary between 11K and 14K depending on the load. I did run 15 mpg once but I was towing 11K with some Dodge and Ferds and they couldn't keep up. :D
