Several of the supporting vendors sell the Fumoto drain valve. Try J Kennedy or Lubrication Specialists. L8R

Recommend the Fumoto; oil change is just the flip of a lever away. Also works very well to get that oil sample when you need it.

You could pick up a magnetic drain plug at your nearest NAPA.

On the"FUMOTO" DOES THE LEVER HAVE TO BE SCREWED in so it is [valve handle]up or does it matter ;or do you have to add gaskets as shims??

also what is the size of original bolt [wrench size]Edited by: mpl897

Mpl - no shimming required...just screw it in and you're done...I highly recommend one since it makes changing your oil MUCH more enjoyable....The oem drain plug should be a 5/8 (16mm) head.

What happened that you need a new drain plug? Just curious.

Go FUMOTO, not one of those cheap look alikes.

You might look at the magnetic drain plugs that AV Lubricants sells. They are a little pricey, but the magnet is SUPER STRONG, and I feel that it does a better job of protecting your engine than a Fumoto. The plug is very stout, and the company is great to deal with. George Morrison is a well-respected oil guru, and this is what he recommends.

I'll keep you posted on what I think of the magnetic plug in the long run.

No need to be embarrassed, you should see some of the stuff I've pulled over the years. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif
