Here is the website:
http://www.sporttruckdirect.com/Ultra_Filter_Billet_Oil_Filters.html
I see that they make a claim that although their filter only filters up to 35 micron, it does so continually and 100% of the oil goes through the filter 100% of the time. They state this and then go on to explain that a normal filter has a prv/bypass and as such will allow unfiltered oil to pass thorugh the system without filtering given high enough oil pressures. Is this true.?
I would like to hear from those that use this filter as well as some clarification on this "normal" filtering/bypassing process with the stock spin on type filters and whether this particular filter (ULT 424), with the claim of filtering all the time, might be a worthwhile investment.
I am currently using an FS2500 Bypass system in conjuntion with std OEM Delco oil filters.
Thanx in advanz..

I wouldn't do it. Check out the filtering in my sig. and you will see how important oil filtering is!!!

OK:
You wouldn't do what exactly..?? I can read and see you are also using a bypass as am I albeit with additional filters added. Fine.
Look, I am quite aware of how important oil filtering is...that's not the issue here and I am not suggesting that I would quit using my FS2500 oil by pass system. I am simply curious if anyone is using this particular oil fitler in place of the Delco std. spin on.
I am also curious as to their claim that using a std Delco spin on will not filter 100% of your oil 100% of the time. That part of an engines oil filtering system is something I would like explained... if in fact that is true. I do not know...do you..??

The DMax has an internal bypass so the non bypass theory they're using to market this flter doesn't apply for our use. IMO it would be best to purchase a good single use spin on that meets GM specifications with a bypass and much better filtering capability than 35 microns. Using a filter w/o the GM speced bypass would give GM all the amo they need to deny warranty should a lube related failure occur. My .02

OK, I get what you're asking. I think they are being a bit deceiving when they say their filter is filtering 100% of the time. I assume they are talking about when the oil is thick and cold so a "normal filter" would bypass the cold oil as it would be too thick to pass through the filter until the oil warms up and thins out. Problem solved with synthetics (highly recommended IMO) because they don't get anywhere near as thick as regular oil when cold. My HUGE problem with their filter is the micron rating. IMO way too much would be getting by at 35 microns. Put a spin on Mobil 1 or Amsoil EAO filter (with your fs2500) and you can't do any better than that!!

oil filters are fairly cheap. spend the money and replace them when the time comes up. the amsoil eao filter is guarenteed up to 25k miles or one year when you use amsoil synthetics. i change mine every 10k. all comes down to peace of mind

And with the advent of the Amsoil EaO series oil filters which filter *very* effectively down to 10 microns, it is rather a no brainer.. The EaO is the de facto spin on oil filter industry standard at this point...

NO connection with Amsoil: quite the contrary.... :-)

Ok Guys...roger that and thanx. I still have 5 AC Delco spin on's left from a recent/decent inexpensive purchase. I just saw this ad and was wondering about it and in particular the claim to "filter 100% of the time".
That's what this forum is all about..!! Interesting comment on the Synth oil. I just might have to go that route given the outside temps we see here for 6 months starting in Oct/Nov.
Thanx again.
