: Do you make more boost Sled Pulling?

Trying to get ready to do a local pull. My BigHead is dialed in at 31psi max boost on the street with the PPE on Level 10. Will I see the same, more, or less boost going down the track pulling the sled. I was wondering if the load would affect it.

it just depends on the track. Usually i see less boost on a loose style track with more rpm's and wheel speed. On a tight track were i kinda pull down on the engine more i see acouple pounds more of boost. If its set at 31psi on the road i wouldnt touch it at all....Just bump the shifter into neutral at the end of the track to drop the chances of barking the charger

How does bumping to Neutral compare to bumping it out of T/H and easing out of the throttle?

You'll almost always see lower boost when sled pulling, due to lots o tire spin and not loading the motor as much as you could on the street.

As far as not barking the charger at the end. I've done both methods of throwing in neutral, and easing out of the throttle with t/h off, and I prefer the neutral method. In the past I still had some problems with snuffing out the motor when trying to ease out of it.

I would think you would still bark your turbo.

I would think you would still bark your turbo.

So do you recommend bumping it to Neutral also?

I have read that several times before, but just doesn't sound like a goog idea, so I was looking for an alternative.

Bump it into Neutral.

Bump it into neutral. Even if I back out of the throttle slowly at the end, the truck usually dies. Most guys use this method.

If you push forward and up on the shift lever it cannot go into reverse.

It's hard not to bark the turbo every time when shutting off T/H and rolling off the throttle. Bumping the shifter into neutral works every time.

Hes right....Thats how i do it push forward and up on the shifter....Dont be afriad:D ....even turning off T/H can still kill the engine at the end

Learn something new everyday from this place, I'll have to start pushing forward on the shifter when throwing it in Neutral! I've thrown mine in Reverse a few times, thank god for the Ally computer not allowing it to actually do that!

Wheres the pull down there?

ElDorado Springs this Saturday the 25th at 6:00. Supposedly, they are going to have a Street Diesel class after the MSTPA trucks and tractors, but the contact hasn't called me back yet with the details and rules.

Now, don't be coming down here and whippin' up on me at my first pull;).

Actually, I'm hoping to be ready...I don't even have my hitch yet.

Figures, two pulls practically in my backyard, and I will be at Scheids. There is a pull in Nevada this Friday.

No Street Diesel Class at ElDorado Springs this Saturday the 25th.

They will have an exhibition pull after MSTPA finishes. $20 hook goes into a pot and winner takes. No rules.

Anyone know anything about the Nevada pull or have any contact information?
