i ran into an s-10 for free, runs like a top. i let the d-max sit now to keep the miles off of it. with it sitting anywhere from a week to maybe a month at any one time, would there be anything i need to watch for that may go out quicker or hurt it more without me knowing? i am already using synthics in the motor. just need some opinions http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

keep some demulsifier additive in it, when sitting in a damp place, the fuel could 'make water' and that wouldnt be good.

Any type of fuel additive to keep the fuel from gelling. It's not a bad idea to start it and let it run for a while, every couple of day's.

Starting it up once a week will charge the battery also.

Put something in the cab to keep moths or any other little critters from living in there. I am not sure what kind of bugs you get down there. Even mice.

I don't think you really need to worry about gassoline fuel gelling in your area. It needs to be well below 0 to gel gassoline, but if you have water in your tank that would be another issue.

I would not start it unless I was going to drive it and age it up to operating temperature. A short period of idling will allow water to condense in the crank case and that turns into acid. I would also go with the short trip oil change schedule.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

i already have the fuel additive in it. its sitting outside now but here soon it will be parked inside a heated shop as long as it can stay inside-depends on what my dad has to work on. i am just more worried about the motor, like all the oil coming down and then going to start it with little oil at the top of the motor, stuff like that. i do let it warm up a little too.
