Does anybody know the procedure for reprogramming a key fob on a 1995 chevy truck?

You have to do all fobs at the same time, if i remember correctly you turn the key to run with engine off, press the lock and unlock buttons on the fob together at the same time and wait for the horn to chirp, then proceed with the next fob with the same procedure. When fobs are programmed turn key off and verify they are programmed. If not then take it to the dealer as some vehicles need the Tech-2 so they can be reprogrammed. If i am wrong hopefully someone else chimes in for a correction.

tried that. didn't work.

maybe reprogram is the wrong word. My brother bought this truck and it had no remote key fobs. He picked up a couple of used ones. now he needs to sinc them, or program them or whatever you call it.
he has checked the vin and it did come with remote keyless entry.

maybe he wont have to take it to the dealer...

Anybody else have any ideas how to program a new (used from a junkyard) key fob to a new (1995 Z71) truck?

Ground pin G of the Data Link Connector (DLC).
Receiver will respond by locking, and unlocking doors within 2 seconds.
Press any button of the first transmitter to be programmed.
The control module will respond by locking/unlocking doors and activating rear window release.
Press any button of the second transmitter to be programmed (if used).
The control module will respond by locking/unlocking doors and activating the rear window release.
Remove the ground applied to the reprogrammed connector.
Transmitter operation is verified locking and unlocking the doors and activating the rear window release.

Thanks for this information. It worked on my 1995 Chevy Tahoe. The key Fob model number for the 1995 Chevy Trucks is 10239647.

Does this also work on used remotes or only new ones?

Can I get the newer looking remote or do I have to get the one that came original to the truck (they were square, right?)
