ive heard alot of good things about the superchips and the predators, any others i should look at?

I tried a few different programmers on my LLY and none of them did too much for mileage. The only thing I found that helped was keeping the speed at 65mph on the freeway, but this was with stock tires. I doubt you will gain much at all with that big of tire, especially with stock gearing.

So far the PPE economy is getting me decent mileage around town. 14-17.5 if I behave it is closer to 17 everytime. Towing a camper (#8000) it is 11-14. I know some say they get alot higher than me but EVERY TRUCK AND EVERY DRIVER is different.

I think most programmers are going for power and not economy. You may see some MPG improvement in the smaller power levels due to the advanced timing but that's about it. EFILive gives you the tools to create your own tune and not increase power if you don't want to. There are some tunes that members have created with EFIlive that do increase mileage about as much as can be done by tuning alone. Even with a great mileage tune keeping your foot will still be the dominating factor. I've seen 21mpg driving to LA with my EFILive economy tune at 70mph.

I gained 2 mpg with Tony's Moonshine tow tune.

Your foot is the biggest problem with fuel economy with these tuners. Its just too much fun to beat up on the mustang or other vehicles for that matter. I can't keep my foot controlled enough to run a tank of fuel to see what I can actually get for mpg. So programmers will help if you can help yourself along with it.

Exactly. The tow tune I've been using requires very little foot presure to get moving or keep your speed. I love it, I've become addicted to stepping on the gas as little as possible around town. I'm getting 16.5 in town stop and go traffic with the AC cranking, with an ocaisional romp here and there. Lots of road construction here so I'm talking a lot of stop and go. Highway is 18.5. Way better than it was w/ an Edge or stock.

bobd X2 /I'm running the Superchips 2805 and I don't get great milage, but your right the ease you make power and torque with is just too cool. I can pull 10,000-15,000lbs and it really doesn't make much difference. Step on the pedal and go. Truck never seems like its working very hard. Empty running the performance/tow(middle tune) and my big old drw 1 ton truck acts like a sports car. I really don't like running the performance tune(top tune) without trans upgrades. Have done it a couple times and I gotta think if you ran it all the time trans time to limp would be short.
Superchips does let you adjust tire size as well as read and clear fault codes.
Overall I have been satisfied with Superchips.

I agree, I just got my PPE Xcelerator, set on level 3 120 hp tow..and it takes Very little pressure to get the ole truck movin..I was gettin about 15mpg city before, so I expect somewhere around 17 in the future. :D

I think we would all agree that most of the chips out there will give you some increase and they are all about the same. It is just a matter of keeping your foot out of it. That is my downfall becasue everytime I pull out of the gas station there is usually a mustang or a civic or some other weird v tech gizmo so I cant help but ACCIDENTALLY smokin them. I actually found that leaving the chip cranked I get quite a few mpg's greater. That is not stomping on it though it is just easing into it. With thoses 37's though your tranny might want to be upgraded. Hope this helps

if you stack chips, your mpg will go right in the pisser....really fast though
