Anyone tried running red fuel in the New LMM yet?

Here in Arkansas where it's around $2500 fine.... I'll pass! But if it's ULSD then it's ok to run OFFROAD!

New to diesel here, but why is it less expensive? It is less refined? If it is, then could it even be ULSD? Thanks.

No road tax applied. If you get caught cheating uncle sam outta some pennies you gonna get burnt!! Off road use only ie. construction, farm equip etc.
BTW why the hell do I pay road tax for gas in my boat:mad: !

Less tax on the off-road fuel A.K.A. "farm fuel" Thus making it illegal to run in your truck if you are not a farmer and the truck is not being used for farm use.

Oh, ok, so it can still be ULSD then.

Oh, and as far as my boat is concerned, the road taxes hurt less than the marina taxes. They have really lost their minds.

The chances of a resi truck getting checked are next to none. I ran it for 6 years in my last truck but I think the off road diesel is still high sulfur which would be a big NO NO because it would plug your dpf if it is high sul.

Yes, for about 11,000 miles now. Of course, I have removed my DPF and cat so it doesn't matter to me. I burn at least a tank of fuel a day so the savings are substantial.

I run it for farm use in my dads Dmaxs. I havent tried it yet in the new LMM and just wondered if anyone has. Uncle Sam gets enough of my tax money,I work for him so I can say how greedy he is. In Pa I can run red fuel in Ag equipment, also our farm trucks. Not trying to do anything illegal just trying to save some money where I can, like everyone else.

What is the DPF ?

Diesel Partical Filter, basically just a big soot trap in the exhaust systems on the new 07.5 and up diesel engines to meet the 2010 emission standards. It traps all the soot, then the engine goes into a "regeneration mode" when its near capacity to burn off all the garbage it collected.

until 2010 off road fuel may be lsd
Most of the time "red" off road fuel is usld w/dye because distribuation line etc make it easier to just dye usld and not cotaminate any of it.
