I was reading my installation manual and it says "refer to transmission learning sequence section" I didnt see this section in my manual so can some one help me on what to do for it to learn the trans? Thanks, Tim

you start in level 2 and drive about 10 miles or so normal driving in each level from 2 to speed loader, thats what the guy at banks told me it was.

I never actually did this "sequence" when I installed my Six-Gun. I believe you only have to do it if the Six-Gun is showing an error.

What the trans learning stuff is, is that it pretty much tells you that the tranny might shift hard at first (after banks installed). Just drive it, the tranny will calibrate it self to the horsepower change. Mine did and some times it shifts screwed up but then again it could be my tranny.

Also while thinking about it, you should get the "TAP"s reset on your transmission. This will help it learn and adapt to the tuner faster. The Allison is a "learning" transmission and it will calibrate itself to engine specs and driving style. When the TAPs are reset the transmission goes into a fast learn mode to get a base program, then it will progress into a standard slow learn mode for the rest of its life until reset again.

the bullydog shift kit says it all.....

above is the best explanation so far....
the tranny was designed to adjust mainly for driving style...if you drive it hard it will eventually to learn to shift smooth when being driven hard...if your wife/girlfriend drives less agressively than you do, the shifts will be very firm until the tranny learns that driving style and then it will shift smooth again. i say it was designed to adjust for driving style but now they have to adjust for tuners. same theory though, stock power is your wife/girlfriend, tuner is your drving style... the idea is to put it in level 1 then drive and do many many many take offs from 1 to 5th gear. then do the same with level 2 and so on...if youre easy on it you can go straight to the level you think you may want installed all the time but be very easy on it until it learns.... if you go out and put it in the top level and run the #*$% out of it, you will have some terrible shifts called flares where the apply of the next gear was too slow and it went into neutral.... when it learns the power of the tune in normal driving then slowly get more aggressive and eventually you can drive easy or hard with it and it will do fine
