I need new tires and have been looking at the Toyo open country AT. I did a search on this forum and came up with pretty much positive feedback except for a few instances of poor handling with really large tires.

Has anyone had any problems with the Toyo open country AT in a 265/75/16 E on stock rims? I would appreciate your opinion of these tires before I buy. Thank you

Got Toyo 285's. Love 'em. Very stable at high speeds, I've had the big CC/LB over 110mph on them. Quiet and smooth.

I had the Toyo and was really pleased with the tire, it seemed to
heandel anything. From snow, to high speeds. I would buy
them again and probably will

The large tires and poor handling you read about were probably my 19.5's on Ricksons which I sold to Frank in LA. The handling problem is a function of the 19.5 construction and not that of the Toyo AT. Almost all 19.5 exhibit the same handling characteristics of wandering, etc. Toyo in the 16" size do not exhibit those characteristics and are an excellent tire. I run them because of their strong casings and have yet to blow a Toyo from hitting Mexican potholes or rocks.

I am getting ready to buy new tires and were considering the Revo's. They don't wear well? I put on 22,000 miles a year so the wear factor is important.Edited by: JohnnyO

Johnny O , The tire wear is the only bad thing I will say about the revos but so far I dont know if any AT tires will hold up long under these trucks. I now have 38k on them but they have been whipped since about 25k. They did last longer than the steeltex though.

Got 64k miles (103k km) out of my Cooper Discoverer A/T tires before I replaced them with the same thing. The tires that came off went onto a buddy's 3/4-ton...

Haven't tried the toyo truck tires but have had several sets on my cars over the yr. Wore much better than domestic brands ~ My guess was because country of origin didn't have an EPA getting into its processes.
