I pretty much empty out the truck to eliminate excess weight at the track, but do take emergency tools, sockets, a jack for lowering the torsion bars, etc.

If you are not at the track with a group of friends, where do you leave your "stuff" when you are running?

Most racers are very freindly. I have asked a guy if I could stick my jack in his trailer and such. Or most places will alow you to take a car(that your not racing) into the pits but may clip you more for it. Take the wifes car along and pack stuff in there if thats the case.

Take a small trailer w/ toolboxes on it.

Theft is seldom an issue at most tracks. Certainly ask a stranger if you can pit with them. There are others in your same boat each event, and many welcome it with open arms.

Tips:

Do not leave anything fragile out. It will get stepped on or drove over.

Underneath your spare tire is a good spot for fragile items.

Tailgates will get dinged eventually. If you don't like dings, leave it on and up. Your ET won't suffer significantly.

It's 0.1 seconds for 200lb at ~6500lb. Your seats are the heaviest things on your truck, next comes the spare tire.

Leave what you can at home first. It just makes life simpler.

If you ever come to kcir for a night of racing let me know, theres usually me and a few other guys that keep our stuff together.

Thanks for the suggestions, all. McRat, I do need to pull that rear seat.

Rob: Thank you for the kind offer. I'll drop you a pm the next time that we head up there.
