I posted a few weeks ago that I was ordering a complete exhaust for my LLY.. well, the kit came in last week. I ordered the aluminum kit with reversible muffler. I basically don't want it super loud, but I want the benefits of the exhaust itself.
Problem- they sent me the Stainless Steel kit by mistake which is twice as expensive, BUT comes with a straight through muffler and not a reversible one so I know its going to be loud. This is a catch 22 here.. I know its the better kit, but if I install it and don't like how loud it is I cannot return it. I wanted the reversible muffler so I can quiten it down a bit.
What do you guys think? keep the kit and deal with it? or have them swap out mufflers or something?

I wouldn't want it too loud, either. I would make them ship it back on their dime and send you what you originally wanted. Just my 2 cents.

If they sent you the more expensive kit and that is not what you want then sell it for a marked priced so that you make some money on the deal and then repurchase the other kit you wanted in the first place. Basically you make out both ways... Good luck...

I just installed a MBRP aluminized (dry weather - sell truck in 2 years) on my 2005, and it lives up to the hype (actually truth) it is as quiet as stock. I was not pleased with the kit though- rough edges, didn't fit, looks like someone previously tried to install, and no instructions at all. Went to dealers web sit for installation pics, and it was not operating over the weekend. Cleaned up the pipe edges, installed, and the sound or lack of is great. Hangs down too far for me (below stock) and with all my off road it will get mangled sooner or later. Had used Banks before on customers trucks and liked it a lot better. Didn't look used, came with instructions, and was a higher quality product. MBRP is quiet as advertised, but the kit I got lacked quality. Would not recommend.

How about the system from RPM outlet, anyone use that one? I notice some of the sights offer a 5" version what would pros and cons be with 4 vs 5?

this is the one I am dealing with. once I install it I'll let you know.
I want it to be quiet like he says the MBRP is above, but I got the wrong kit by mistake.

thanks for the feedback.. so you have the benefits of the bigger exhaust without the noise. that is what I am after. Sorry you had some shipping/quality issues, that sucks..at least they sent you the right kit!! LOL

Well, RPM is picking this system up tomorrow and refunding my money. The kit I originally wanted is not back ordered until December 1st. GREAT!!
So... who here sells MBRP? if you can price match or come dang close we can make a deal today.

Changed my mind... after talking with a buddy on here and looking at this in a different way.. they sent me the stainless steel kit by mistake because they were out of the aluminum. Now instead of me sending back a superior kit I am just goign to have them swap out tips with me. I am having them pick up the regular tip and ship me the resonator tip.
no reason to send back the top of the line kit to wait on the cheaper one when this one is in my kitchen gathering dust.
thanks for the input and advice all.
