ok I know someone has experienced or has the knowledge to to answer this question with confidence, because im not sure im confident running my truck with this noise, so please just tell me itll be ok....i have an 05 2500hd crew, w/ juice/attitude set on level 3, defuel 4-5 only, low boost on 3. when I lay into the throttle I get a weird noise, sounds like its missing or something only for a second and then its fine, almost sounds like somethings decompressing or pressure is released from somewhere? I think it usually does it around the 4-5 shift, the defuel is not loud right right? does anyone else experience this? Thanx for helping with my dumb a** questions..

It is the sound of the turbo barking. Edge will deny that is an issue, but many have experienced it with the LLY/Edge combo. I have replaced every part that Edge has recommended on our dealership owners truck, no fix. It happens during a wide-open upshift due to the sudden drop in RPM, the turbo loses some of its drive(exhaust), all the boost it has built up has to go somewhere, and it stalls or backspins the turbo to escape back out the intake. It isn't good for the turbo. I ran a Van Aaken box on this exact truck, and it did not bark. Edited by: Max Payne

hmmm...well thats just great, is there anything that will help this? exhaust, intake? how bad is it, my truck does this on a regular basis? anyone else have the juice/attitude on a 05 lly and not have this problem? will it blow my turbo up?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley11.gif

hey Max Payne,
this is exactly what a bypass valve is for..so the compressed air does not go back to the blower or turbo and stall it. have you tried any type of bypass to release this stuck air? if I continue to see this on mine I may install one. I have a blower on my car so I am familiar with the bypass and how it works, seems and sounds like this is the exact symptom of NOT having one installed...
