What is the trick pulling it out of the dash? There is no play in the wiring and I can only pull it out of the dash about 4". Any ideas?

Small hands. It's usually the antenna wire that seems to be the shortest. Got to find a way to reach back there best you can. Once you get it out the first time, then once you see what is back there you can usually get a little more play on the wires.

If you can't get it out far enough to get any hands back there, you may have to pull the entire dash to see what wire is hung up. It's not a big deal, I can get mine off in a couple minutes. Remove the trim bezel, remove the driver/passenger side A-Pillars, pop out the passenger side a/c vents using a small flat edge, pop the release tabs for the passenger side grab bar which are located inside the holes where you removed the a/c vents, remove all mounting screws (there are some inside the driver side fuse panel and the passenger side wiring block), then slide the dash forward until it comes out. Go slow, because after you get it started a little bit, you will need to reach up underneath to turn the ambient light sensor a 1/4 turn to get it out of its hole, you don't want to yank on the wire for that sensor. Hope that helps. Sounds like a lot, but it's really not too bad.

Pull the heat/ac controls out from below the radio and see if you can get your hand in there to pull the wires out of the radio or snake them up through the holes in the dash frame. The wires have foam on them to keep them from rattling and can get hung up on he frame.
