Just wondering why on trucks tracktion bars are the long type that connect to the frame yet on cars people run the bars that have that rubber peice that contacts the spring pack to stop twisting.

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_744083_-1_10083

They show 1/2 ton applications.

Imagine maybe they don't work as well as the long bars to the frame??

Thanks

They are both designed to control axel wrap. The ones on the link use a bumper that hits the spring end when the axel wraps. It really only controls wrap on half the spring. The longer bars act to locate the axel under the truck and limit it's movement to up and down. It stops it from twisting in the first place. Somthing with long travel need ladder bars as they used to be called and muscle cars can have a quick bolt on called a traction bar. The best setup is the traction bars but unless you have a common application like a lifted truck you will have to do fabrication of mounts and know what your doing instead of just bolting on the device you have shown.
