: Edge Juice features changed?

I recently sent my Juice in to be reflashed with the latest software to correct several issues, but when I got it back, the 'Engine Intake Temperature' option for my display shows 0 constantly. Before I sent it in, I was able to monitor the intake temperature, but now I'm not. Has anyone else noticed this? Jake, at Edge Products, is supposed to be looking into it and letting me know something, but he said that he hadn't run across that issue. I know it's not just my truck either, because a buddy of mine has the same type of box on the same year model truck, and he mentioned that after he sent his in for the update that he couldn't get an intake temp either.
HEAVYdutyDMAX 08-13-2007, 07:24 PM I have the newest version of juice and attitude..i think 1.9, and mine doesnt show intake temp either. If you find out the prob, could you pm me?

Smokin Max 08-14-2007, 01:39 PM i got the 1.5 version and mine won't tell me the engine temp it only says 40...i dont think mine even has that option on it
Swamp_Monster 08-15-2007, 05:22 PM If I'm not mistaken there were a few parameters that you could not monitor on the 2001 that you could on the 2002+ LB7 engines.
I know mine had it because I used it. But now it doesn't.
Swamp_Monster 08-17-2007, 03:58 PM Well.....just an update guys. I had to call Wednesday to see if Jake had an answer, and all I got was voice mail. I know how it is to be busy, so I left a message. I never heard back from him. I called back yesterday afternoon and left another message. He finally returned my call late yesterday afternoon. As per par-for-the-course, I couldn't take his call so he left me a voice mail letting me know that "...the intake temp reading no longer functions after the last s/w update..." and that I can "...go ahead and choose another parameter to monitor." WTH is up with that??? I send it in to correct a problem and I lose features?????
To top all of this off, I spent $52 to overnight my box to them for the update with the promise that they would send it back via 2nd day Air. Theyfouled up and sent it back via UPS Ground and it took an extra 5 days to get it (over a weekend). Talking with Aaron, he was upset about it and said that his intentions were to really Overnight it back to me, because he wanted to go "above and beyond". I applaud him for the thought, but the follow through was not there. After that he offered to refund me the overnight charge, so I took him up on it. He wanted me to fax a copy of the shipping receipt and I did. Well, it didn't go to the fax number that he wanted, so I refaxed it to the number he supplied. Three weeks pass without a check, phone call, or email so I called and had to leave a message for him on Monday. Monday afternoon is when Jake called me back because Aaron passed it off to him. He asks me to fax the bill for a third time!!! I fax it one more time. Yesterday, I get a check in the mail from Edge! :) I go to the bank today to deposit it, and I notice that the check is not signed or stamped!!!!!! I've got a check that is no good! So, I scanned the check into my computer and sent a copy of it to Aaron explaining that it was no good. His only comment was "Unbelievable.....I'll get another one cut and sent out."
I swear!!! I don't know what I'm going to do if this thing gives me one more problem! ARGGGGGGHHHHHH!
Swamp_Monster 08-24-2007, 04:32 PM UPDATE......Well another week has passed and, as I suspected, I have not seen another check in the mail from Edge. Last thing I heard from Aaron was "...it's being cut and mailed."
Also, in reference to the Air Intake Temp issue. After Jake told me that it had to be taken out, I wanted to follow up with it a little more and I was told by Aaron in an email that:
Intake temp I am still working on. It is correct that it does not display anymore I am trying to figure out why we had to take that option out.
The very next day Aaron tells me that:
It has been confirmed that if you had the option before you should still have it. I will be testing a module before I send it to you too confirm that it works.
Now I can't even get him to return an email or phone call. What's up with Edge Products????
oil man 08-24-2007, 09:03 PM I just talked to someone at Edge today and they told me the same thing, that i was out of luck and would not be able to have the intake temp or Bar. sensors, they said it doesn't work on the newer chips, so i am not very happy about it either, if you here anymore back i would like to know if they will do it for you. Had any problems with your chip besides that??? mines going in for engine stall.
Swamp_Monster 08-28-2007, 06:37 PM I haven't had an issue with the newest module s/w yet, but I have very limited seat time with it. It really pisses me off that they just took out those measurements without telling anyone. I can't even get an answer as to why it was taken out. Aaron is telling me that his engineers have yet to tell him why it was taken out. I know it's minor, but I sent my unit in to get it to quit stalling, and when I get it back it has less functionality than when I sent it in.
I'm still trying to get a formal response from them, but it's like pulling teeth. I finally got a signed and valid check from them yesterday. It only took six weeks, countless phone calls & emails, two checks (first one wasn't signed), and a UPS overnight envelope.

acrider2 10-31-2007, 11:49 PM any update on this yet. I bought mine in sept. this year and it has never displayed it. It would be really nice if this worked.
imfixinmopars 11-01-2007, 07:50 AM well,my edge has been sent in twice in a year,just got it back,and i will ck that temp thing.but bottom line is that edge has to be the king of return for "updates". and when i mean updates,i mean the piece of crap i bought for 700.00 is a cheaply made product,that fail in time of need,and is going to cause a accident or death.when towing in a poor traffic location and having the truck die,then having to unplug the module,to regain driveability,equals junk product.i wondering if they are "updating" to keep a possible class action law suit from happening.look at the big picture,they tried to save a dollar,and now we got crap products.oh and i dont mean crap,i mean the s word.if i knew all the hassle and postage $$ i would spend, i would have bought any other product,oh well,good luck,and i never got a call back either,and just think,i was gointg to be a dealer for edge,thank god that didnt happen.
imfixinmopars 11-01-2007, 02:32 PM well drove the truck to lunch,and what do ya know,no air temp reading for me either,whats next,no egt's,speed[which locks up anyways].sorry for the negative responses,but it shouldnt be that hard to make a working product,others has. i wonder how many of us has had problems w/ these??? might scare you.

Marcus Koeck 11-15-2007, 04:23 PM As for losing features, I was talking with a buddy at BD, and he says they had to do something like that with their chip too, just because there is a limited amount of memory in the chip, and to get some essentials to fit, they had to take some non-essentials out.

A couple years ago when I bought the Edge/Juice combo everything I heard about them was how great they were with customer service and how responsive they were with any problems.
Now? maybe not so much....
No real worries though. Either Edge steps back up to the plate, or some other company will and replace them.
Mr. D 11-16-2007, 03:55 PM I believe all the problems reported, but I have had an Edge w/Attitude for about 6 mo. on my LBZ and it works perfectly. I guess it is the luck of the draw like so many things in life! Hope the problems get worked out for all of you! Take a deep breath and put it in perspective as to how important it is in your whole life!
dmaxedge 12-01-2007, 05:30 PM i have version 1.68 on my 02 gmc, air intake temp works fine, as does everything else with the exception of the tranny temp.
