: Anybody using the Bully Dog box?
Brake_Torq 11-07-2004, 11:53 PM It seems about the same as a Juice, to me. But, I like how it lets you change power levels on the fly, without having to also buy the monitor.
Good? Bad? Something to think about, or should I just get a Juice and forget it?
fredw 11-08-2004, 12:27 AM <DIV>which box dyno dominator or power pup programer,( both boxes are a vanaken product) i run them both and like them, the dominator has the three position swich that you can adjust on the fly, nice option when showing a freind, i also had the hot juice for a while. seamed to make a bit more torque, and most here have, and can be upgraded with the attitude, both are great boxes, http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif</DIV>
Brake_Torq 11-08-2004, 06:28 PM I'm talking about the dyno dominator box. Isn't it a can-bus box like the Juice, so you don't have to replace the stock programming, like the power pup? I like the idea of leaving the stock programming intact. It might mean less warranty issues.
But, I'm still debating over which one to get. I would definitely be in favor of the Juice or dyno dominator over the programmer, but I would like to be able to adjust for bigger tires in the future. And then, if I go with a box, I think I like the Bully Dog better, due to the adjust-on-the-fly feature.
But I still don't know... I havent decided between the Juice, power pup, or dyno dominator. Any thoughts?
CYCLONE 11-08-2004, 10:19 PM correction neither one of those are a van aaken unless he has a old dyno dominator
the powerpup with the outlook monitor will be the package to beat
all the hp you want plus a monitor that can be left on the truck when go to service and 5 power levels on the fly
Brake_Torq 11-09-2004, 07:02 PM Wait a minute-- somebody straighten this out for me. I thought the power pup was a downloader, or programmer, so you replace the stock tune and then you don't leave the programmer attached. And then, the dyno dominator was a box, which you leave plugged in-line (like a juice).
So, the monitor would go with the box, because what can you change with a programmer unless you plug it back in and load another tune? So, can you change levels on the programmer (power pup) with the outlook monitor?
Am I thinking wrong here? Somebody elighten me on all this.
CYCLONE 11-09-2004, 08:49 PM YES THE POWER PUP IS A TUNER OR PROGRAMMER
AND YES YOU CAN CHANGE THE POWER LEVEL OF YOUR TRUCK ON THE FLY WITH A OUTLOOK MONITOR!
Brake_Torq 11-09-2004, 09:25 PM Is the power pup better than the dyno dominator? Why?
Got Juice? 11-09-2004, 09:58 PM Is the power pup better than the dyno dominator? Why?
TAP cells reset, adjust for larger tires, changed gear ratio, no more SPEED LIMITER..... 'stealth mod' no added wires in the engine compartment
fredw 11-09-2004, 11:04 PM correction neither one of those are a van aaken unless he has a old dyno dominator
<DIV>last time i talked to justin at bullydog, the dominator and pup were custom tunes from va, they might have a few differences but nothing major, just my understanding</DIV>
Got Juice? 11-10-2004, 01:11 AM Shoot.... i forgot, IIRC the pup DOES NOT monitor for tranny slip..... and it also DOES NOT DEFUEL between shifts.
So, unless you have a built tranny.... the Can-bus modules with trans protection are safer.
