So what's with all the manufacturers going to 17" wheels on the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks?
Tires for 16" wheels are quite a bit cheaper, and I've never had a problem with 16" wheels...
Is it just for looks?

That'd be my guess. It doesn't seem right though? A tire with a 16" rim has more rubber product, than a tire the same size with a 20" rim, yet the 20" rims tire costs more? Are they harder to make or what? I know it's always been this way, but it doesn't make sence, besides that the demand for larger rims controls the prices?

In a lot of cases, they are putting bigger wheels to clear larger brake rotors.

Realy!?!?!?! I've seen the 2007.5's with the standard 16" PYO wheel on them. Does that mean that they have smaller rotors on them too or are you talking about the other makes?

because 16 inch wheels looks like training wheels on these trucks..
