AMS has the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. On to of
that It took them three tries and two months to get me a complete
BMK-17. Once I ran the bypass, the oil analysis showed no
difference.

I always ran Mobile, tried AMS, now I'm back to Mobile.

I recommend checking out AVlube Instead. That's what you can learn
from my mistake, and wasted money....

I have been using Amsoil for a few years, with no problem at all with
customer service, always had deliveries when I needed them, and the
bypass system on all my trucks has extended service intervals by
double. I have never had a lubricant problem in any motor I have
used Amsoil in.. So I guess there are good results, for some, and
bad results for others.. My experience has been very positive, and I
would not go back to Mobil - I used that before Amsoil and the
difference was noticeable..

Choice is always a personal thing, and for every good experience you
will find a bad one to match it. Read what the industry says, rather
than personal experiences - Many companies publicly endorse their
lubricant choices, so looking to that information may help you
decide. One down side to Amsoil is the multi level
marketing they use - the service you get is only as good as the
'dealer' you buy from.

I too have been running amsoil dual bypass for 12 years now on every vehicle i have owned. Every kit i ordered had exactly what i asked for. By far easiest install of any upgrades i have done. Preference of oil is yours. I personally run schaeffers now. Customer service has been excellant for me. I have commercial account for my equipment rental business and use amsoil filters wherever possible. I do use their two-cycle oil in all two cycle applications, Their transyd equivalent in my ally, and their synthetics in differential. All my backhoes, excavators, etc use their red grease. I have 99 6.0 gasser with 242000 miles and have had bypass since day one and only ran mobil 1, changing oil filters at 3500 and oil at 7000. Truck still runs new and not even a tick from my lifters.

I say you cant lose no matter whos bypass you use.

I have never seen GM call for a 30w oil in the Dmax. 5w40 yes.

I run Delvac 1 5w40. I too have had my ups and downs with Amsoil as a company.
