Oops. Set a bag on the back seat that had an ink smear on it. Now have ink on light gray leather. Anyone got any ideas? Tried WD40, alcohal, hairspray, and lestoil.

Hmm, dunno if this will help but I ran a quick search on google and came up with this page (http://www.leatherworldtech.com/StainRemoval.aspx) some of the products there look like they're what you're looking for.

The best interior/carpet clear i've found is blue crystal, I think they
sell it at wally world. If you tied all the stuff you listed, try scrubs in a
bucket or Fast orange hand cleaner and a soft scrub brush. I've used
both to remove all kinds of stuff, including dried paint that had been
though the wash....

I've seen the detail guys at work use laquer thinner. It dont seem to damage the leather either. Of course, I would test it on inconspicuous place first.

(Bet you thought I could spell that didnt ya)

Ditto on the spray brake cleaner. I haven't found many things it won't clean and have yet to screw anything up. (knock on wood) Later! Frank

Did you try the Lexol Cleaner?

My 3 year old found a pen and wrote all over the third row seat in my wife's Yukon. I used a little laquer thinner and gentle scrubbing and all is somewhat well..

Thanks for the ideas. I know sooner is better but I've been out of town for the week so will try out the ideas this weekend. (Where can you get Lexol cleaner?)

Any horse supply place should have some. Or maybe any place that deals a lot in leather goods (aka leather boots) might have it.

I actually bought my first bottle at an O'Reily's Auto Parts store. Also found a car detail shop in my area that had it.

If all else fails, I'm sure you could find a place online that sells it (just google "Lexol").

It should work, it may take a little elbow grease but I you'll know for sure that it won't hurt your leather.

Tried Lexol with no result at all. Next I tried lacquer thinner on a Q tip. It got 90% of it which is where I should have stopped. It's still better than it was but because I got to aggressive with the thinner it left a rough spot on the seat. Oh well live and learn. For what it's worth use the thinner if you have a similar problem but stop as soon as you stop getting color on the Qtip from the ink.

Thanks for all the suggestions

Check with you local dealer to see who they use to repair their interior materials. They should have someone who sill be able to redye the rough area you describe. You have removed the color coating on your leather.
