We were hauling our loaded GearBox heading up a hill on the Mass. turnpike and all of a sudden she died and cel came on. It was in limp mode, couldn't move a bit and 2000 rpm max. We got towed off and I pulled the codes and came up with a PO207 and P2146. I did some searching a looks like it's the harness. It's at the dealer now and they are going to look at it 1st thing Monday. I pulled my Edge off so there is nothing but the EGT probe left. The dealer can't give me too much grief for that right? It has less than 30k miles on it, is there any deductable on it or will that be 100% warranty? Also, the guy that towed it said that GM will pay for the tow if it is a faulty part on their end? I've never heard that before, but if so who do I contact about that? This isn't my local dealer so I have no idea what I am in for. I'm looking for any suggestions or comments. Thanks!

There's a TSB on it so you shouldnt have to pay ANYTHING out of pocket...

Of course, knowing dealerships that way they are....I'm sure they'll stick you with the bill...Or try to at least...Best of luck man...

I got bit by the injector harness bug on sunday. picked the truck up last night, and they wanted to hand me a $173 bill. I proceeded to tell the lady that I have owned this truck for less than two weeks, its under warranty, and has less than 15,000 miles on it. Luckily the salesman who i bought it off was standin nearby and came over to tell the lady to waive it. I got a mile down the road only to realize that now my cd player won't accept cd's. (acts like theres one in there, but there isnt). The dealers will always try to put the squeeze on your back pocket.

I had the same problem with my CD player - under warranty.

Just won't draw in the CD - even though it still attempts to spit one out.

I had to brig it in, and they read the security code on it, and ordered a new one with the same code, then brought it back a week later and they replaced it.

Keep your salesman nearby, just in case...

Well after totally crappy customer service and extremely slow service I got my truck back, and the diagnosis was bad harness (the service writer asked how I knew that before they looked at it) ha-ha thanks guys:thankyou2 ....I told him that I read a lot! Anyway he had me sign the paper and didn't ask for a single penny. I think he knew better, I was pretty pissed since I was stranded, and I asked them if they can do emergency service and they said 1st thing Monday and I'd be on the road later that night. Well Tuesday at 4:30 it was done, and it said .90 hours labor and it took 2 freakin days to do.

Anyway it's all set now back on the road!

I would hold onto that slip if i was you. My dealership wanted to charge me with 1.5 hours of labor for it, which if it wasnt under warranty im sure they would have. I aso just pulled my slip out and noticed that my #4 injector wire chafed, not the typical #2 and 7. weird.

yours could have been the harness right off the ficm. that rubs through on the ficm bracket. that explains the num 4 wire.

I have had all three fail. First was the FICM itself, a couple months later the wiring harness shorted at the bracket and about 8 months after that the #2 & #7 went. With wiring like this, I'm wondering just how long my headlights are gonna work....
