: alt is good ,batts. new ,no charge don robinson 08-10-2007, 10:41 PM i have a 96 chevy 1 ton dually 4-door had a stalling problem and created another of no charging . i fixed the stalling prob. by removing the intake and removing the factory spring clamps on fuel lines and replaced them with screw clamps fuel lines were sucking air :cool: but still no volts from alt only batt. volts :mad: .. are there any fusible links that will cause this and where are they??? fuses are all good don robinson 08-13-2007, 04:11 PM help Turbotug 08-13-2007, 04:17 PM Was it charging fine before you took it apart? jpoudrier 08-13-2007, 07:49 PM You have to have a loose connection somewhere. Double check all your wires and clean anyting that has oxidation on it. don robinson 08-14-2007, 12:25 PM no it wasnt it quit in the stalling and starting process of getting it back homei think this is a fusible link problem that saved an alt from burning up because of low battieries.. but where is this link in the loom. my alt has 1 lead going straight to batt. and 4 on a plug going into loom this is a96 1ton dually 4 door 6.5 turbo diesel don robinson 08-17-2007, 02:35 PM ok found fusible link in loom on fire wall i now have 14 volts at voltmeter on dash yipee!!! but iam back to a stalling problem somtimes it does it somtimes it dont and no codes are set anyone want to buy a truck???:( Turbotug 08-17-2007, 05:15 PM Filling out your sig so we know more about your truck might help.
