: Vacuum Line On LLY?

Can anyone tell me where I can find a vacuum line on the LLY engine that I can cut and place a T-Fitting, so I can get a reading for my Auto Meter boost gauge, a tech at Auto Meter told me that he was showing a line underneath the air box, but that was on the LB7 engine, he had no updates for the LLY.

You might as well get Super Diesel to make you a sleeve to install, or
just drill and tap the intake pipe. . . Not sure how much a replacement
pipe would be if you wanted to go back to stock for a dealer visit but
I doubt they'd say anything about it, it's just gauges.

Hi,

you need to either a) do what baimpala said

http://www.wackywack.com/images/dmax/sd_manifold_small.jpg (http://www.wackywack.com/images/dmax/sd_manifold.jpg)

SD Manifold

or drill and tap the intake manifold after the intercooler. that is what i originally did. had the SD manifold existed at the time i would have used that...

Not sure if there is a difference in diameter between the LB7 and LLY
(I think there was some discussion a while back about it not being the
same, but I can't remember for sure).

That pretty much leaves one option.

I don't think you want a vacuum line. Vacuum and boost are too different things. You need to get into the intercooler line somewhere.

Diesel Power, where can you get the SD Manifold ? I assume that's a picture of it in you're reply. How Much ? I currently have a busching from ISs Pro that you braze onto the inter cooler pipe. It comes already drilled and tapped for 1/4 NPT. I have not installed it yet. I think the SD manifold maybe a cleaner installation.

Send Super Diesel, a member here, a private message. He will be
able to tell you whether or not he has something for the LLY yet.

Dennis,

Is that just drilled and tapped into the pipe? Is the pipe thick enough for more than one thread?

Thanks!

Yep, just drilled and tapped. Pretty close to two threads. . . maybe not ideal, but it hasn't blown out yet.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif I tried not to drill it out too big so I could get full gription (scientific term) on the fitting.
